The Wolf & Rabbit Hunt; Informational
East Shroud ( X: 10, Y: 23 ) - Saturday, July 30th 1PM PDT
The Concept
The Wolf & Rabbit Hunt is an all ages event built around the children's game of hide & seek, with a small combat motif added to change up the playstyle and add a unique gamble to an otherwise straightforward game.Players compete as members of one of two groups; the wolves, whose goal is to find and capture as many rabbits as they can, and the rabbits who are tasked with hiding and evading the wolves for the duration of the game.In the event that a wolf and a rabbit encounter one another, a brief scuffle ensues, the winner of which is determined by a three-strike roll system, which is detailed and exampled in full in the 'playing' section of this carrd.
You will need two cross-world linkshells available for this game; one to have the event runner announcements be heard, the other for the game chatter.
The Location

The game begins at Sweetbloom Pier, in the East Shroud. This location is considered a safe point, and will be the landing point not just for the game itself, but also for the activities being held while the game itself is in process. However, the game is played in the entire zone of the East Shroud - as long as you can reach the location without glitching, exploits, or otherwise unfair methods, it's an appropriate place to hide. To clarify further; The Bramble Patch, Nine Ivies, Larkscall, the Sylphlands, and the Sanctum of the Twelve are all valid hiding locations. It is recommended that players remain in their highest level combat class or a gathering class capable of stealth to prevent issues with enemy mobs interfering with the game in a detrimental manner.
Note
This event is an all ages event, held off the brothel grounds. It is intended to be light-hearted fun hosted by folks who enjoy making new friends and being positive influences in the community. We ask that those who attend this event respect that, and moderate their behavior in a manner that is more in line with that goal. This is an in-character event - you may attend in an OOC manner, but please respect that this is a role-play event run by a role-play company.
How to Play
The Start: Each participant will be given a ‘hunting baton’ prior to the game starting. This baton is not a lethal weapon, but is the only weapon allowed to be used during this event. Getting hit with it won’t bruise or injure, it’s like getting struck with a pillow. It will leave, however, a lightly dusted ‘strike’ mark wherever it makes contact. Additionally, Rabbits will don their proper ‘hide’ colors, given by the event runner at the event.
Hide Color | Point Value |
---|---|
Brown | 1 Point |
Grey | 3 points |
White | 5 points |
When everyone has their weapon, Rabbit participants will be released to hide in the zone. The entirety of the East Shroud is fair game, however;
Participants may not hide within an instanced location, nor in any area that requires glitching to get to. Players found to be doing so will be immediately disqualified from the game and not permitted to participate in further Wolf & Rabbit hunts.
Rabbits will have ten [ 10 ] minutes to get to a hiding spot. When the call goes out to freeze, Rabbits must do so regardless of where they are, which means that some may well end up in full view and be easy pickings!Wolves will then be released to find their opponents!Rabbits are allowed - nay, encouraged! - to use the game chatter cross-world linkshell to goad and antagonize their wolf opponents while they are being hunted. Just don't get explicit or downright mean!
The Hunt:Wolf & Rabbit can be considered a large game of Hide & Seek with a bit of combat tossed in to give it a sense of struggle. Your competition is just about everyone - there are no teams, no groups, no safety!Wolves ride out with the intent of catching Rabbits and bringing them back to base. When a Wolf finds a target, there is a small scuffle; The Wolf will post a short ‘approach’ emote, then both participants will roll. The higher roll wins the round and earns a point against their opponent. This continues until three strikes are delivered to the opponent. Combat is a fluid weave, emotes should be short and to the point. Whoever wins the roll emotes first.
Example:A is the Wolf, E is the Rabbit.A finds E hiding, and approaches.“A catches sight of color through the otherwise green landscape, and looks closer, spotting E and going in for a strike!”!Random! A: 124 // E: 546“E dodges the strike but lands one of their own upon A’s hip, the colored dust poofing around the baton as they giggle. “Gotta do better than that!””“A grouses, and tries again.”!Random! A: 900 // E: 120“A thumps the rabbit squarely on the rump, blue dust making them sneeze. “How’s that?””“E sticks their tongue out and lifts their baton!”This continues until either A or E attains three strikes. Emotes can be any length, but it is advised that they remain short and to the point - the event is a timed one, and the longer you spend on one rabbit, the larger chance there is that other rabbits are being gathered! That’s all there is to the combat!
If the Wolf wins the round, both Wolf and Rabbit return to Sweetbloom Pier. If the Rabbit wins, only the Wolf returns to Sweetbloom Pier to lick their wounds and remains for five [ 5 ] minutes before being allowed to pursue a different Rabbit, while the Rabbit can take that time to hide themselves ( or remain in place ) again. The game ends when time is called. In the event that there are too few Rabbits to Wolves, Rabbits will be released again in three [ 3 ] minute intervals.
Game End:When the game ends, all players return to Sweetbloom Pier and the points are tallied.
If participants are in the middle of a skirmish at the time the game is called, the next roll for each is a ‘sudden death’ roll, and the winner is decided based on that roll.
The Wolf with the most points wins 500k. The Rabbit that was caught the least ( or not at all ) wins 500k. The Rabbit that eluded Wolves most wins 250k.
‘Eluded’ means that the Rabbit was found by a Wolf but won their combat, sending the Wolf back to base.
In the event that there is a tie between either group, a tie-breaker round will ensue.
